JumpStart WINNING
Friday Jan 30, 2015
Friday Jan 30, 2015
I recently took my daughter Lia to a #HarlemGlobetrotters game. As we watched the game, I kept thinking about the players on the other team that travels with the Globetrotters. The #Globetrotters walk in every night expecting to win and the Generals walk in every night knowing that they’ll lose.... The JumpStart Today question is: Are you a General or #Globetrotter? Are you starting today expecting to win or to lose? Leave your response in the comments below.

JumpStart VIVE LA DIFFÉRENCE

My wife Marti and our daughter Starr own InBliss yoga here in Kansas City. There are a lot of reasons these two lights shine so bright but I think it’s because of their decision to be different from all of the other yoga studios AND to be different in ways that are important to them. They call it the 3 “S”s— Spirituality, Snacks and Savasana. The French saying, “Vive La Différence” means “Long Live the Different.” Life is found in what is different. The JumpStart Today question is: What’s YOUR Difference? Leave your response in the comments below.

Wednesday Jan 28, 2015
Did you know that just 100 years ago fully 90% of people NEVER brushed their teeth? Pepsodent was just like every other toothpaste but with a slight difference— your mouth would tingle. As your great grandparents brushed with Pepsodent, they get used to the tingle and started to crave it every day. This craving lead to the habit of brushing— which was passed down to us and is a relatively new idea. The JumpStart Today question is: What’s YOUR tingle? What makes YOU unique? Leave your response in the comments below.

Tuesday Jan 27, 2015
When I was a boy, we’d often visit my grandparents in the small town of Manning, South Carolina, where my grandfather owned a hardware store. One of my favorite people was an old man named Willy. Whenever someone said, “Hi, Willy.” Willy’s response would always be, “What’s the good word?” Our JumpStart Today question is obvious: What’s the Good Word? What are you happy, excited or passionate about? Leave your answer in the comments below.

In Act II, Scene 2 of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Hamlet says to Rosencrantz, “For there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” The other day, a friend of mine had to evict a tenant who was 6 months past due on rent. When the tenant moved out, he stole my friends appliances. Rather than exploding in rage, my friends response (because these were his thoughts) was, "I guess he needed them more than me."
