JumpStart- Focus

I was recently speaking in Tulsa Oklahoma when I saw one of the funniest things ever.
A group of the event’s leaders invited me out for dinner at a nearby Mexican restaurant.
The place was busy and the staff was rushing to keep up.
After an extended wait, our waiter came to our table to take our orders.
The funny thing was that he would take one person’s order (there were eight of us) and and then the kitchen would ring a bell telling him food was up for another table and he would run off.
Then, he would come back and take another one of our orders when suddenly the bar would signal him to pick up drinks for another table and off he’d go.
You may not be as distracted as this waiter but you can certainly benefit from being more focused and today I’m going to give you some tips on how to do just that.

Have you ever been scammed?
Betrayed?
I have and it sucks!
And unfortunately, many of us get scammed and/or betrayed several times in our lives.
I recently discovered a way to discern when someone is taking advantage of you and for some reason you’re not picking up on the cues.
The first thing to do is to understand why you are missing their negative intent.
The second thing is to know what to do.
Today, let’s unpack both so that you can feel more confident in dealing with other people.

JumpStart- Imagining a Memory

Have you seen the smash Broadway show “Hamilton?” If not, you’ve probably heard the soundtrack.
The other day I was listening to “Hamilton“ and heard a line that reinforced The Law of Attraction — big time!
In “My shot” Hamilton affirms, “I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory.“
Wow. Imagining something -- anything so frequently that it feels like you’ve already lived it.
If you can imagine your ideal self to the point where it feels like a memory, you have fully engrained your consciousness such that you MUST achieve what you want.
You’ve magnetized it like rubbing a balloon to build up static electricity -- it’s on it’s way, you just have to maintain faith.

Recently, a good friend of mine lost out on a real estate deal — a BIG real estate deal; we’re talking tens of millions of dollars.
Not only did he lose the potential revenue of the deal but he also lost an $80,000 investment spent trying to acquire the property.
Think about that - he spent $80,000 and STILL lost the deal.
And the worst part was: it wasn’t my friend’s money! He had cost his company and his boss 80 large.
My buddy lumbered into his CEO’s office to give him the bad news.
Rather than chewing my friend to pieces, this excellent leader demonstrated why his company is voted year-after-year as the best place to work in Kansas City and why it’s now worth billions.
In today’s JumpStart, I’ll share this secret so that you can apply it next time something goes wrong in your life.

JumpStart- A Dog’s Life
Saturday Dec 21, 2019

There’s a really unique concept that started in Kansas City and is now spreading to other cities — it’s a combination dog park and bar/restaurant.
David, a dog lover and entrepreneur found about 20 acres of basically unusable land in the middle of Kansas City and bought it.
In the center, he built a two-story bar and restaurant surrounded by dog parks for every size dog.
It’s called the BAR K (clever, eh?)
The BAR K has live music, special events for different breeds, and even has “Dog-tenders” to watch your dog while you eat, drink, and be merry.
What struck me after several visits to the BAR K is how rarely the dogs fight.
There are 2 basic rules every dog must follow and, as a result, there are hardly any growls.
If we follow the same 2 rules the dogs must follow, we will have fewer arguments and less conflict.
Today I’ll explain how you can apply this dog knowledge in your own life.
